Few companies can boast the stellar reputation enjoyed by world-renowned German brand Sprenger®, who has been thriving for over 150 years. Allegedly in use since the fifth century, stirrups are an essential element of your horse’s tack. The stirrup is a basic but vital piece of riding equipment, as it ensures a rider remains secure in the saddle whilst enabling them to maintain a steady balance upon the horse’s back as the horse moves. Stirrups are also a mounting aid, allowing riders to lift themselves into the saddle with ease – your feet must be out of both stirrups before attempting to dismount, however, otherwise you risk getting a foot stuck and causing a potentially dangerous accident! If you’re in any doubt about how to select the correct size stirrup, or you’re unsure as to which style of stirrup to choose, please don’t hesitate to contact the Discount Equestrian team – we’d be happy to help.
Alongside their prestigious range of world-class bits, Sprenger® also craft fantastic stirrups and stirrup irons! Here at Discount Equestrian, we’re pleased to present an amazing array of cutting-edge stirrups in this brilliant Sprenger Stirrup Irons range.
Following are just a few of the innovative stirrup designs to be discovered in this Sprenger Stirrups collection:
* Bow Balance Safety Stirrups – “Sprenger Bow Balance design provides easy 'pick up' upon mounting, as they require very little effort on the rider's part; a simple touch of the foot to the stirrup and it gently folds into place. Select Bow Balance Stirrups for a smart riding experience.”
* HS System 4 Stirrups – “In 1998, Sprenger improved the flexibility of our stirrups by extending the joint with an additional link. The System 4 relieves pressure on your hips, knees and ankles during riding, and even spares ligaments and menisci from excess damage. Our System 4 jointed stirrup is the epitome of comfortable riding; it provides undeniable confidence and is used by both leisure and professional riders.”
* Flexcite Stirrups – “The newest generation of jointed stirrups, Flexcite Stirrups enable perfect balance to set your leg in the correct position. These stirrups are shock-absorbing and extremely gentle to ligaments and joints. Flexcite Stirrups support the release of your foot in case of an accident, and they have a flexible joint that offers an exciting, high-level performance. Showcasing a modern design, these top-level stirrups are available in the elegant colour combination of silver and black.”
Here is a statement from Sprenger® themselves about their dedication to quality stirrups: “All products that are marked with the HS logo are manufactured at our factory in Iserlohn – so you can be certain of the ‘made in Germany’ label. Our mission is to ensure that our products reach the highest possible standards of quality. This is achieved by using only the finest materials and components available, intensive employee training and extensive quality control testing after each stage of production. This is carried out on testing machines made to our own detailed specifications. The Sprenger range is complemented by other carefully selected products.”
