Martingales and Breastplates for Horse's and Ponies

Martingales are useful for preventing your horse from getting their legs tangled during a fall and for preventing them from raising their head above the point of control – especially whilst jumping.

Breastplates are ideally suited to horses whose body shape is continuously changing, for they prevent the saddle from slipping and rubbing your horse. The breastplate also keeps your horse comfortable, by allowing freedom of shoulder movement.

The neck strap of either a martingale or breastplate can also assist riders of all ages and abilities in stabilising their seat safely, without relying on the reins to balance themselves – which ensures that their horse doesn’t endure unnecessary pressure on their mouth, poll, or nose.
